Parodic style adverts are adverts that are usually making a joke of something else, for example an advert making a joke of a film or an event. The purpose of these adverts is to relate the advert to something the audience are already aware of. For example the Anchor Butter advert involves a parody of the great escape. The overall message of the advert is that their cows can roam free all year and that they only produce free range products. However the use of parodic style creates humour and attracts the audiences attention because they recognise the advert before it has explained the product properly.
